As we design veneer dryers, our focus is two-fold: we aim to be efficient and precise. As you know, efficiency means we are looking for the dryers to operate in an expedient manner as well as in an energy-efficient manner. We mean to dry the veneer sheets at an equal stage without damaging it hence accuracy is important. Critical Temperature, Humidity and Airflow Elements

The correct air temperature, humidity and airflow are integral to the successful drying of veneer This is accomplished with the aid of specific sensors and controls provided by XIANGYING that monitor these critical factors during the drying process. Of all the parameters to monitor, probably the most important one is temperature. If it becomes too hot, the veneer will warp and become useless too. On the other hand, a very low temperature means that items take ages to dry and are ready for use, thereby wasting time and energy. Humidity monitoring is another step in the process. There is a possibility of cracking of the wood at high moisture levels. Sufficient air flow ensures that every face of the veneer receives its fair share of drying. Various Methods of Drying Veneer

There are various methods to dry veneer, and each of them has advantages and disadvantages associated with them. Here at XIANGYING we mainly employ two processes to dry our wood: steam drying and radio frequency (RF) drying. Steam drying works through the use of hot steam that heats up veneer sheets. This works fine, but is a bit slower. RF drying contains a high-frequency electric field specially designed to precisely excite the water particals of the wood to heat up and evaporate faster. Although it's faster and much more accurate than steam drying, it takes even a lot of energy to do therefore. Both have their place and for the most part, we will opt to do one of them depending on what we're doing.

Avoiding Issues such as Warping and Cracks

There are certain things we really want to avoid when drying veneer, including warpcuts, cracks and color changes. All this conditions would de-babble wood quality. To avoid the above issues, at XIANGYING we observe extra care. Warping in the uneven wood occurs if more layers of veneer tightly stuck on the wood layers, hence making it disfigure either quickly or gradually. If the veneer got too dried or dried slowly, thus cracks will be formed. Sunlight causes discoloration, or if the wood is not in proper storage location it will because of dark stain. All these factors are well controlled during the drying process to produce supreme quality veneer sheets.
